The WPI AIAA Research Rocket for the Investigation and Observation of Recovery and Staging (WARRIORS II) is a two-stage, high-powered model rocket carrying redundant onboard computers and a digital video camera. The project is intended to challenge students to meet a number of technical objectives while satisfying budget, schedule, and mass constraints. We present the design, construction, and testing of the vehicle, highlighting the electromagnetic booster separation system, deployable hang-glider-like wings, carbon-fiber frame and lightweight fiberglass skin.
