The purpose of this project was to develop a speech-based telephone dialing system. Algorithms for speech recognition were developed using MATLAB as a simulation environment. The implementation of these algorithms was completed using a Texas Instruments TMS320C31 DSK board. Due to the small amount of memory included with this board, external memory was designed and interfaced with the board. The designed system had recognition accuracy of 98% in the MATLAB environment, and 79% in the DSK environment.
