Design of Scale-Model Floating Wind Turbine Platforms
PublicContenu téléchargeable
open in viewerThe goal of this project was to fabricate 100:1 scale models of tension leg platform and shallow draft barge floating wind turbines, and to perform hydrodynamic tests. This report details the design process for the model turbine components and platform, including revisions and suggestions for improvement. Components were modeled in SolidWorks, then fabricated using a rapid prototyping system or machine tools. Models were tested using sensors to monitor the platform's response to various wave conditions while in towing conditions.
