Evaluating the Effects of Camp Reach on the Middle School Teachers
公开可下载的内容
open in viewerCamp Reach is a two-week residential program in Massachusetts where middle-school girls participate in STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math) related activities with middle school teacher (MST) assistance. This study’s goal was to evaluate the effectiveness of Camp Reach as a professional development program, which was achieved using data analysis of end-of-program evaluations and follow-up interviews. The results showed that teachers’ knowledge of engineering and classroom usage of engineering increased, and led to the recommendation that the MSTs be provided with a lesson plan that can be utilized directly in their classrooms based off certain camp activities.
