Removal of chlorine dioxide by-products from water

Público

The goal of this project was to study possible methods to reduce the concentration of chlorine dioxide by-products, chlorite and chlorate, in swimming pools. The materials tested were hydrogen gas produced from hydrogen peroxide, zeolites, and activated carbon on zeolites. It was concluded that future studies of the production of hydrogen gas from hydrogen peroxide in swimming pools might lead to the discovery of how to remove both chlorite and chlorate from water.
