Polylactide-co-glycolide material as a carrier system

公开

At present, bone grafts are the standard treatment to enhance bone healing in many clinical situations. Unfortunately, there are many drawbacks associated with current methods of assisted osteogenesis. Certain bone growth factors called Bone Morphogenetic Proteins (BMPs) have been shown to improve osteoinduction. Therefore, their use as an alternative for bone grafts is compelling. An appropriate delivery vehicle for these growth factors is critical in their effectiveness. This study tests Polylactide-co-Glycolide as a potential carrier.
