open in viewerAs a result of the rapid land reclamation development plans in Hong Kong, the reclaimed land in Sheung Wan has been overlooked. The purpose of this project was to assess the current state of urban development of the reclaimed land in Sheung Wan and to evaluate redevelopment needs of the stakeholders of the Western District. In order to achieve this goal we conducted direct observations of the land through site visits, and interviewed knowledgeable people in our area and stakeholders. From this, we were able to: identify problems with the current state of urban development in Sheung Wan, compare and contrast the needs and wants for redevelopment of the area and determine how the land could be redeveloped to appease as many of the interest groups as possible.
