Functional Middle Ear Model - Zurich C-term 2022
PúblicoConteúdo disponível para baixar
open in viewerThe middle ear is a complex sensory organ crucial to the sensation of hearing. Current models of the middle ear used in otological studies display static anatomy. These models fail to capture dynamic sound propagation mechanisms, and thus fail to properly replicate the middle ear. This type of replication is a challenging task that requires an understanding of anatomy and physiology, digital three-dimensional modeling, materials science, additive manufacturing, and instrumentation. The following report discusses steps taken to begin accomplishing this task.
- This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
