The goal of this project is to study the impact of smart technology on society. We conducted a detailed survey of smart materials and systems that are currently being used in industry and determined how this technology has been beneficial to society. During the course of this study, we performed some experiments that may be used for science demonstrations to grade school students. In addition, we suggested some potential applications for smart materials and systems and analyzed how they would affect society.
