open in viewerIdeas concerning how to best educate students to become "information literate" are being drastically modified as a result of a steady infusion of network technology, especially packaged software on personal computers, in the public school system. This report documents the evolution of a project, originally intended to test an implementation of a computer-based information literacy curriculum in several Worcester public schools, that developed into a study of the conception, capabilities, expectations, and receptiveness of a Worcester area school system to a proposed information literacy curriculum. At issue is how computing will manifest itself in the classroom of the future.
