Stockroom procedures at Teradyne, Inc

Public

The objective of this project was to decrease cycle time through kitting and process flow improvements in the Teradyne stockroom in Nashua, New Hampshire. We utilized benchmarking, process flow analysis, employee and customer input, and historical kitting data to highlight areas of possible improvement. To reduce cycle time and to better meet the needs of production, we focused on moving materials to the production floor, thereby eliminating the need for kitting. This process included implementing a Kanban inventory management system.
