The project objective was to design and construct a self-contained video security system that connects to an Ethernet network. It performs image-based motion detection, securely transmits images to a central location for storage, offers a web-based interface for configuration and viewing of real-time images from the camera, and uses an authentication and authorization to only allow authorized personnel access to the images and archived movies. The system is operational and meets the project goals as stated in our proposal.
