Design process for reliability tracking of robot components

Public

Automated Assemblies Corporation (AAC), a manufacturer of robots for the plastic injection molding industry, has for a long time failed to appropriately track returned robot components. This deficiency has resulted in substantial money loss, to the extent that AAC asked us to design a process that will better track part failures. To help AAC, we designed a database, an accompanying user's manual, and conducted an instructional seminar to ease the transition into a full implementation of our newly designed process.
