An intelligent system for synthesizer independent sound programming

Public

Digital musicians often work with numerous sound synthesizers, each with scores of complex parameters. We have designed and implemented a neural network based intelligent system which facilitates the assignment of values to these parameters. The user utilizes a classification system to quantify his or her subjective opinion towards sound programs, which aids in the discovery of those preferred. In addition to being designed for hardware independence, our system has been tested and shown to be effective at simplifying synthesizer programming.
