Integration of Food, Energy, and Water Systems in Affordable Housing
公开可下载的内容
open in viewerProper integration of food, energy, and water (FEW) systems creates a sustainable means of decreasing energy consumption. 126 Chandler Street, a low income apartment building, was used as a case study to highlight the impact of different FEW systems. A building energy model was created in Revit and Green Building Studio to analyze the efficiency and feasibility of the systems. Based on the results from the energy model and the project’s budget, various design strategies are recommended including solar panels, water conservation and reuse systems, improved insulation, and a rooftop greenhouse into the design of 126 Chandler Street.
