open in viewerOur project utilized facility improvements as a way to provide hope and empowerment to the staff and residents of the Sizakuyenza Safe House, a shelter for survivors of domestic abuse. Through interactive modeling, participatory planning, and collaboration, we upgraded the Safe House playground, garden, fountain, and dryer lines and repainted the interior walls. Involving residents in the improvement process helped them realize their full potential while inspiring strength and confidence in all of us.
