open in viewerWorking with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), research was conducted on efforts to lower the rate of Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) in the United States. Through literature review, stakeholder interviews, and a focus group, the obstacles caregivers face to adopting the American Academy of Pediatrics’ recommendations to prevent SUID were identified. A series of recommendations were developed to assist efforts of existing safe sleep groups and a map of organizations working on infant sleep mortality was created.
