This project conducted research and applied lean manufacturing practices to reduce setup time in VMC machine operations at D&S Manufacturing to standardized setup procedures for the VMC machines and to facilitate the organization and safety of the shop floor. Simultaneously the project applied Kaizen methods to create a standardized form of measurement to improve their VMC machine utilization. Finally this project created a checklist to assist in the preventative maintenance of the VMC machines and their equipment.
