Characterizing the microstructural response of IN100 at and around the γ' solvus temperature

Público

This experiment studied the effects of heat treatment temperatures from 15° F below to 30°F above the gamma prime solvus on the grain size, and gamma prime volume fraction and gamma prime size of In-100. It was found that the samples subjected to temperature above the gamma prime solvus exhibited irregular grain growth resulting from the reduction in gamma prime volume fraction. A decrease of γ' volume fraction was also observed with increase in soak time.
