Curating a Pipeline for Analyzing and Visualizing Gene Expression Data in Psychiatric Disorders
PublicOur lab is interested in understanding changes to gene expression and regulation in the brain. In recent years, thousands of single-cell RNA-seq and ATAC-seq datasets have been produced and become publicly available. To analyze such datasets, we compiled a single-cell sequencing analysis and visualization pipeline based on dimensionality reduction and clustering techniques. We then used our pipeline to explore cell-type specific changes to gene expression in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This analysis indicated that neuroinflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and oxidative stress are involved in the etiology of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
