Test Rig for a Load Sharing Unit in a Ball Screw Transmission

open in viewerThe project goal was to reassemble and create a test rig for an existing hydraulic load-sharing unit, consisting of three individual ball nuts connected by hydraulic cylinders. The test rig was designed to use weights dropped as a repeatable force application to determine the load sharing unit’s efficiency and load sharing capabilities to warrant further testing and development. This was done in a limited time frame of 16 weeks and with a limited budget. Due to this and electronic issues, the project was not finished and needs to be continued in the future.
