Lithium Ion Battery Safety
PubblicoThis project completed at the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in Bethesda MD, researched lithium ion batteries because the risk of fire associated with their use is a danger to consumers. Data was collected from CPSC databases, government agencies, innovative companies, and battery organizations. The research indicated four potential directions for the CPSC to follow to make batteries safer for consumer use, (1) strengthen voluntary standards, (2) consumer education, (3) regulations and (4) new technologies.
