Upon the return of Martian samples to NASA, care must be taken to prevent contamination of the samples, as well as the earth environment. For the purpose of manipulating the samples while maintaining contamination control, a prototype of a set of handling gloves was designed. In addition, various materials that had to meet NASA specifications were researched, selected, and tested for the final prototype. Altogether, the gloves should offer good dexterity, durability, flexibility, and protection at the handling conditions.
