Analyzing Computer Architecture of Intel Processors for Time Critical Applications
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerFor time critical applications, it is essential that a digital processor is able to sustain the demand of the application’s timing requirements. To analyze if a family of high performance Intel processors are equipped for different time critical applications, this project created a tool to calculate the performance of these processors in giga-floating point operations per second (GFLOP/s). With the proposed tool, this project compared the performance benefits of a traditional multi-core architecture, Intel Xeon E5-4669 v4, with a new many-core architecture, Intel Xeon Phi 7210.
