Information on vocational training programs for the visually impaired in other countries is necessary in proposing new vocational programs to out sponsor, the Institute for the Blind and partially Sighted (IBS), in Copenhagen, Denmark. Through gathering this data from both the United States and abroad, we were able to organize, analyze, and evaluate different vocational training curriculas [sic] and educational philosophies. In further investigating these programs, various cultural implications were also uncovered. In Denmark, these methods, along with a focus group, and natural observation, aided in completing the project. Effective vocational training programs were subsequently examined and are intended to have a positive influence on the high unemployment rate among the visually impaired.
