Tests were conducted that would be used to determine the advantages and disadvantages of different types of surface scanning systems. A manufacturing operation was conducted where the outcomes could be predicted, and the chips formed during this process provided data for us to investigate using different scanning systems. The results obtained during this process provided information to base conclusions on the benefits and drawbacks of each type of scanning operation.
