Assessing Public Healthcare Infrastructure in the Kamand Region
PublicContenu téléchargeable
open in viewerIn the Kamand region of Himachal Pradesh, the healthcare challenges of rural communities are unique due to difficult terrain, distance between health-centres, and disease patterns. This project assessed the public healthcare infrastructure’s ability, in terms of quantity and quality, to cope with these challenges. Our assessment revealed three bottlenecks in service delivery: inadequate supplies, lack of specialists, and inaccessibility of facilities. Based on our analysis, we recommended changes to the system that might improve public access to quality medical care.
