Impact of Scaffolding in an Intelligent Tutoring System

The use of scaffolding as a framework for tutoring students was compared to a traditional hints system. The Assistments system was used to create scaffolding and hint versions of items from the mathematics portion of previous MCAS tests. The impact of scaffolding and hints on students' performance was studied to determine if there was a noticeable difference
