No German will spit on us: the contribution of Polish women to World War Two resistance

Public

The contribution of women to the Polish resistance movement against WW2 Nazi occupation has been largely overlooked. Women were a sizable contingent of the Polish Home Army, risking their lives as couriers, nurses, and in various combat roles. This paper seeks to examine the role these women played in the struggle, and also looks at the interplay between history and fiction as a way to illuminate the lives and concerns of marginalized historical groups.
