The Digital Earth Watch (DEW) project is a NASA research grant created to compliment environmental data taken by satellites with ground-level research. The ground-level environmental data in the project could potentially increase with citizen participation. The goal of our project was to assist DEW by documenting the data collection process in order to develop educational and expansionary resources to facilitate future user involvement. We achieved our goal by collecting vegetation imagery, analyzing the images with DEW software, and developing educational tutorials. Through the implementation of our recommendations, the DEW project can increase its effectiveness in monitoring ground-level environmental data.
