Ping pong tables are a staple in any game room or recreation facility. These tables are large, heavy devices. A user may not always be able to safely open or close the table, whether it be due to their age or a physical impairment. This project creates a design and prototype for a self-folding ping pong table that can automatically open and close itself to provide greater accessibility and independence for any user that wishes to set the table up or put it away. The design utilizes dual four bar mechanisms to fold the two halves of the ping pong table that are driven by one central motor and gearbox. Future development could use the findings here to finalize electronic controls for the table and improve on overall device durability.
