open in viewerDespite its commitment to reducing carbon emissions, New Zealand exhibits low adoption rates of electric vehicles and residential solar systems. Recognizing a need for future policies to address this, our study aimed to delineate the barriers preventing an equitable uptake of residential energy innovations. We conducted a comprehensive survey and interviews across Greater Wellington. Based on our findings, we propose several strategic interventions including public awareness campaigns and strategic incentives to address the low rates of adoption.
