The project's objective was to design a hospital facility in Worcester, Massachusetts in accordance with the Massachusetts State Building Code and Worcester Zoning Ordinance. The facility was designed to incorporate a helipad on the roof and a parking structure. Structural schemes for the hospital were developed in both steel and reinforced concrete considering gravity and lateral loads and a construction cost analysis was prepared for each scheme. An investigation of sustainable hospital design and blast resistant loading was completed.
