Israel Argan Nut Separation
PúblicoConteúdo disponível para baixar
open in viewerThe accelerating production of argan nuts in Kibbutz Ketura, Israel has necessitated the automation of separating argan kernels and shells that can be implemented on a large scale. We researched existing separation processes and applied the principles they employ to develop experiments to separate the kernel from the shell with friction, density, aerodynamics, and size. Using Archimedes’ principle with saltwater, we developed a scalable saltwater procedure that separates kernels and nuts with a 95% effectiveness.
