Heat Transfer into Wall Panel Connections from Residential Scale Fires
PúblicoConteúdo disponível para baixar
open in viewerConstruction of homes and buildings using panels manufactured off site is a growing method of pre-fabrication. With this increase in use, the need to learn more about the fire performance of panels is crucial. The connections at which these panels come together are of particular interest. This project uses inert materials in physical models as well as a commercial conduction code to study heat transfer into the connections. Several of the most commonly used connection orientations were exposed to residential scale fires. The heat transfer measured in the physical models was compared to that simulated using the conduction code. These comparisons will be presented in the context of evaluating the ability of the conduction code to simulate connection heat transfer.
