Implementing Eco-Friendly Cutlery in Hong Kong
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerOur goal was identifying cutlery and tableware that met the criteria of being "compostable and biodegradable," as well as being feasible for implementation in Hong Kong. Using a public survey, interviews, observations, and data analysis techniques, we concluded that Hong Kong is still in transition and, while there are many biodegradable alternatives on the market, the public lacks knowledge about how to recycle. We developed recommendations for alternatives to plastic cutlery and identified ways to improve waste management. Our project furthers the World Wildlife Fund’s research and proposes a way to implement a more eco-friendly alternative to plastic cutlery.
