Maker spaces allow students to gain knowledge and skills through hands-on activities. However, students with accessibility challenges can struggle in a maker space because their needs are not always taken into consideration. In this project, we work with Turn Back Time, a nature-based education center in Paxton, MA, to create a more accessible maker space. We bring together the benefits of hands-on learning and outdoor education to increase learning opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics for all children.
