An engineer may be in a position where his designed product may cause injury or damage and become the basis of a lawsuit. The litigation process will investigate whether the product is defective and should be held liable. Products Liability is a yearlong research project that familiarizes us, future engineers, with the details of our current law system. We began by reading litigation literature that explained law terminology and concepts, and finished with a full investigation of three real-life court cases. Our verdict was based upon the depositions of the parties involved and our own engineering results.
