Ride quality specifications are developed for the Massachusetts Highway Department (MassHighway) to be implemented into their quality control/quality assurance program which includes a payment scale for newly constructed pavement. The specifications are based on the International Roughness Index. To support the proposed specifications, analysis of a study correlating various profilers to the MassHighway Walking Profiler was performed.
