The purpose of this project was to develop a chemical safety plan for the Department of Chemistry at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, for use in the new, twenty-story science building. Because no universities in Thailand have formal safety plans, Chulalongkorn will serve as a model for other universities. The project team researched chemical safety in the laboratory setting, and existing chemical safety plans instituted in United States universities. As a result of surveys, observations, and interviews, the project team constructed a safety plan and implementation framework that is tailored to the new science building and the Department of Chemistry.
