An extension of a previous longitudinal study conducted at Worcester Polytechnic Institute on student perceptions regarding the future of robotics. The opinions of the participants enrolled in a Science, Technology, and Society class focused on the social implications of robotic advancement were collected by means of a questionnaire that asked them to rate the perceived likelihood and desirability of four fictional scenarios of potential robotic futures. The key differences from the previous study was the replacement of an aquaculture-themed scenario with a more stimulating domestic police drone scenario and using three questionnaires instead of two followed by a coded final essay for data collection, which was the method of the previous study.
