The goal of this project is to learn and gain some experiences about stock market by doing stock market simulations. An eight-week stock simulation was conducted using two strategies: momentum and growth trading. Research was done to better understand basics of the stock market, investments, and trading. Each member of the group ran the simulation with an initial $100,000 cash to invest. Trading was done following each member’s respective trading strategy. By the end of the simulations period, a -1.94% decrease for momentum trading and a -4.095% decrease for growth trading were observed. This IQP allowed the group to gain a fundamental understanding of the stock market and also firsthand experience in applying trading strategies. This knowledge and experience will be beneficial for potential future investments.
