Solar cell peak power tracking system

Public

The purpose of this project was to design and implement a solar power controller to operate a solar cell at maximum efficiency for varying cell temperatures and illuminations. Switching power supply techniques were utilized to store energy in an inductor and to transfer this energy to a storage battery. Power delivery was then optimized by monitoring the instantaneous power, and adjusting the switching duty cycle in real time. Results show that the proposed design is feasible and warrants further optimization.
