Mind the Gap: Training the Manufacturing Workforce of Tomorrow
PúblicoThe manufacturing industry is in crisis trying to find skilled workers to fill open positions. There is an apparent "skills gap" in that there are not enough trained workers in the job market and there is evidence that the gap is widening as not enough potential workers are entering the training pipeline. This project quantifies the skills gap and attempts to identify the factors that are keeping existing vocational training programs from keeping with workforce demands in the manufacturing industry. Potential solutions are discussed.
