The Applicability of Carbon Pricing in Hong Kong

open in viewerHong Kong falls short in its efforts to transition to a low carbon economy. Our goal is determining if carbon pricing could be successful in reducing carbon emissions in Hong Kong. After organising workshops and focus groups with sectors and attending a public seminar, we proposed a position to the Business Environment Council (BEC) on carbon pricing. We determined that carbon pricing would be effective in some sectors in Hong Kong, but alternative policies would be better for others.
