C-Reactive Protein & Traditional Cardiac Risk Factors
PúblicoContenido Descargable
open in viewerThis project examines longitudinal associations between serum C-reactive protein (CRP) levels, measured using a high-sensitivity assay, and established cardiovascular risk factors such as blood pressure and lipid levels, as well as resting heart rate, waist/hip ratio and daily hours of sleep. Unexpected negative associations were found with total cholesterol and triglyceride levels, contrary to what was expected. A significant positive association, not explained by physical activity or infection status, was found with resting heart rate. Further study is warranted.
