open in viewerThis Interactive Qualifying Project's goal was to simulate the stock market for 10 weeks utilizing the day trading method. An examination of the history of the US stock market was done first before going any further with the chosen day trading strategy. After thoroughly researching the day trading strategy, simulated trading was performed by exploiting the same amount of stocks with a starting investment of $100,000 for three selected companies. Every action was documented daily, and the results were communicated weekly. Following the three-month simulation, the results of the weekly trades and final outcome were compared with major indices, and the week that generated the best profit margin was determined. At the end of 10 weeks, the day trading simulation's final profit was 5.5%, compared to 5% for the S and P 500 index and 4.35% for the Nasdaq index. The trading experiences thus gained from this project will help in executing successful share market investments in future.
