Fourier series technique for the quantum-well problem

公开

This project provides the most comprehensive study to date of the Fourier expansion technique for solving the one-dimensional variable mass Schrodinger equation, as introduced by Mathine, Myjak and Maracas [IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, Vol. 31, pp. 1216-1222 (July 1995)]. The technique is analyzed beyond what is reported in the original literature, particularly with regards to the continuity of the functions. The work of Mathine et al has been applied to a more general von Roos Hamiltonian. A secondary objective was to study the viability of programming a scientific problem in C/C++.
