The research will ultimately be used to establish a website detailing the history of barbed wire and the barbed wire industry. Historical records relating to the history of barbed wire will be located and analyzed. At one time, Worcester was one of the largest barbed wire manufacturers. Barbed wire played a crucial role in the settlement of the West and the development of the city of Worcester. The invention and production of barbed wire had a tremendous influence on the and prosperity of Worcester.
