Assessment of the policies and regulations that control bovine spongiform encephalopathy in Switzerland.

open in viewerThis research assesses the confidence of the organizations involved in beef production in Switzerland in the methods used to prevent Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) from entering the food supply. Interviews were conducted with individuals representing each facet of beef production and these interviews were analyzed to identify issues of controversy and widespread agreement. This analysis was used to assess the status of BSE control in Switzerland and to make recommendations for its improvement.
